2020 Intro to the UT/Austin Startup Ecosystem Presentation

Intro to the UT/Austin Startup Ecosystem Recap

--

With all the resources available to student entrepreneurs both on and around campus, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate the robust University and Austin entrepreneurial community. On Thursday, September 24, the Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship sought to provide some direction with the fifth annual Intro to the UT/Austin Startup Ecosystem Presentation and Trade Show, hosted by HKC Program Manager, Amanda Golden and Executive Director of the Texas Venture Labs, Mellie Price. They were joined by over 20 organizations at the university and in Austin.

The presentation kicked off with Amanda Golden detailing the resources available around campus, and the entrepreneurial impact that those resources have had. Whether you’re interested in learning more about entrepreneurship, validating your idea, launching a startup, getting funded, or working with startups, the university has resources for students on every step of their entrepreneurial journeys.

Following, Mellie Price dove into the Austin startup scene, and how the city became the startup and tech hub that it is recognized as now. Between accelerators, angel networks, co-working spaces, and the startup job market, there is no shortage of resources for more mature ventures around the area. A full list of available resources can be found in the link at the end of this article.
